1. Supporting Schools since 2009

After being asked to undertake a demographic analysis for a major school in 2009, we are very proud to say that in 2025, approximately 50% of our clients are based in schools across Australia. We have enjoyed supporting the schools’ community by attending events, writing articles, providing webinars and presentations and sponsoring various groups including Educate Plus, AHISA, ASBA, CEBA and others.

We have provided a variety of full demographic analysis and online mapping services to a total of 190 schools across Australia. We have also provided 31 specialist expert reports around greenfield sites, major capital investments, grant applications and specialist Board reports to help with a school’s long term Strategic Planning.

Some of our larger school clients have recognised that major changes are occurring in their local trade areas, and they have asked for a full new project based on the latest data within three years. We always use the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics including the Census data and Population Projections (most recent release was in October 2024) as well as ACARA data and we add new data into our online mapping products as soon as it is available.

We are currently working with Dr Craig Peacock (a long-term colleague of mine through the Institute of Management Consultants) to create a framework for specialist board presentations to help schools complete a thorough risk analysis and governance assessment for new projects. 2. Free Webinar – Changing Student Populations 22 January 2026 12pm AEDT

If you are feeling that there has been a slight drop in future enrolments at your school, especially over the last two years, this is probably NOT a market share issue. It is likely that the pool of school age children in your area is reducing, particularly if your school is in a higher socio-economic area close to a capital city in Australia.

As we have had received a lot of interest in this change of student demographics and how this population change could affect the financial viability of a school, this webinar will look at:

• Children birth numbers and which way they are heading over large areas
• Where students are living and their socio economics
• Ability of the parent population to spend money on education
• Interest in single sex or co-educational schools
